Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager oversees all inventory and warehouse operations, maintaining precise inventory records while ensuring adherence to internal control policies. Additionally, they are tasked with the effective management of warehouse staff.

This position encompasses the creation and implementation of inventory control strategies, the management of stock reconciliation processes, the preparation of comprehensive inventory reports, and the delivery of data-driven insights to enhance financial and operational decision-making.

Oversee a range of critical duties, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to company standards. Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, monitor progress through regular assessments, and report outcomes to senior leadership. Maintaining precise inventory records and ensuring the accuracy of financial data are critical responsibilities of this role. The position demands meticulous attention to detail to track inventory levels, reconcile discrepancies, and verify financial transactions. Proficiency in inventory management systems and accounting software is essential to uphold data integrity and support informed decision-making. Strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy are required to minimize errors and optimize inventory control processes.

Responsible for managing all incoming, storage, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, and return processes while ensuring adherence to company policies and established internal control standards.

Ensure inventory valuation precision by implementing and maintaining FEFO and FIFO methodologies, alongside performing cycle counts to uphold accuracy and compliance with established standards.

Oversee regular physical stock counts, including weekly, monthly, and unannounced audits, to guarantee prompt and precise reporting of inventory balances.

Lead daily cycle count reconciliations and complete stock takes, identifying and analyzing variances while preparing detailed discrepancy reports for the Operations Manager.

Documentation & Transaction Processing: Responsible for meticulously maintaining accurate records and handling transactional data with precision. This role involves compiling, organizing, and verifying documents to ensure compliance with established standards, as well as processing transactions efficiently while adhering to regulatory and procedural guidelines. Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines are essential to support operational integrity and financial accuracy.

Oversee the creation of Goods Received Notes (GRNs), document and report any discrepancies, and ensure inventory adjustments are processed in accordance with the established approval hierarchy.

Maintain all required logs, including access, goods receipt, dispatch, maintenance, and cycle count records, to ensure comprehensive audit trail support.

Ensure accurate documentation of stock items that are damaged, expired, or moving slowly to facilitate appropriate financial provisioning.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and monitoring robust internal control systems to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency. This role involves identifying process inefficiencies, recommending and executing enhancements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices and streamline workflows. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for evaluating controls, documenting findings, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders. Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and process mapping tools is a must.

Oversee and enhance warehouse operations and infrastructure to elevate inventory precision and streamline overall productivity.

Maintain precise inventory records within the ERP system and recommend enhancements to optimize processes.

Maintain unwavering integrity and perform effectively under pressure, particularly during critical periods such as month-end and year-end stock counts.

Collaborate with operations, sales, accounting, and other departments to drive the company’s financial objectives through seamless coordination and strategic alignment.

Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, complemented by a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in project management or a related discipline is highly advantageous.

A recognized Nigerian or international university must award a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.

With a minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in warehouse or inventory management, including at least two years in a leadership role within Nigeria, candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of operational excellence and team oversight.

Highly desirable experience encompasses luxury retail or operations within high-value goods warehouses, with a particular emphasis on cosmetics.

Accomplished professionals in this role must possess demonstrated expertise in overseeing inventory control, conducting precise cycle counts, and ensuring accurate stock reconciliation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, Lookups, and inventory analysis, is required.

Proficiency in Nigerian regulatory frameworks governing warehousing operations, including compliance with directives from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for cosmetic and perfume products, and customs documentation protocols for imported luxury goods.

Experience in Nigerian tax compliance, particularly concerning inventory write-offs, value-added tax (VAT) on stock, and statutory audit obligations.

High ethical standards and capacity to perform effectively amidst demanding circumstances are essential.
