Responsibilities

Support the implementation of R-DATS project development, research, monitoring, and evaluation activities.

This role offers a prime opportunity to develop advanced skills in research methodologies, survey implementation, and data organization through direct, hands-on engagement.

The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will be responsible for executing the following duties:

Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and mid-term evaluations.

Assist in the development of data collection instruments and analytical frameworks to ensure comprehensive and accurate data handling processes.

Assist with gathering, inputting, recording, verifying, and refining data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Ensure strict adherence to all data quality protocols throughout the processes of data collection and data cleaning, providing comprehensive support to maintain high standards.

Responsibilities include compiling and organizing data, conducting preliminary analysis, creating visual representations of data insights, preparing comprehensive reports, and ensuring the effective distribution of findings to stakeholders.

Collaborate with the RATS team to compile reports, consolidate data, and share success stories and key takeaways.

Assist in organizing and coordinating daily research activities in alignment with established project execution schedules.

Perform all additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor, including any tasks deemed necessary to fulfill operational objectives or support team goals.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Science degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or a closely related quantitative discipline is required.

Proficiency in State or SPSS for survey data analysis is an essential prerequisite for this role.

We seek candidates with robust quantitative abilities and proficiency in data visualization and statistical tools, including but not limited to Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.

Individuals with a proven track record in research methodology, survey data analysis, and program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) will be strongly preferred for this role.

Proficiency in utilizing extensive secondary datasets, including MICS, DHS, and NARKS, is highly desirable.

Skilled in articulating ideas clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing, coupled with a commitment to maintaining high standards and meticulous precision.

Cultural competency and a proven track record of effectively collaborating within diverse team environments.

Demonstrates strong self-direction, analytical reasoning, and initiative in seeking assistance when appropriate.

Expert-level proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint, is required.

Candidate Status:
