Support the implementation of R-DATS project development, research, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
This role offers a prime opportunity to develop substantial practical expertise in research methodologies, survey implementation, and data administration.
The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will be tasked with performing the following duties:
Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and mid-term evaluations.
Contribute to the development of data collection instruments and the formulation of data analysis strategies.
You will assist with gathering, inputting, recording, verifying, and refining data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Deliver meticulous assistance to uphold rigorous adherence to all data quality standards throughout the processes of data collection and data cleansing.
Collate and analyze data, develop visual representations, compile reports, and distribute findings to relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with the RATS team to compile reports, gather and analyze data, and share success stories and key lessons learned from projects.
Assist in coordinating and organizing the daily research activities in alignment with established project implementation schedules.
Perform all additional tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor, ensuring alignment with established priorities and objectives.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or a related quantitative discipline is required.
Proficiency in utilizing State or SPSS for survey data analysis is essential.
Proficiency in quantitative analysis and experience with data visualization and statistical software tools, including Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel, are essential.
Proficiency in research methodologies, survey data analysis, and program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in utilizing extensive secondary datasets, including MICS, DHS, and NARKS, would be highly beneficial.
Proficient in both spoken and written English, with a strong commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.
Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within diverse team environments.
Proven capacity to work autonomously, address challenges decisively, and seek assistance proactively when necessary.
Demonstrates strong expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint, to create, edit, and manage professional documents and presentations effectively.
