Ensure continuous provision of support for the daily security operations, strategic planning, and upkeep of MTN Nigeria’s enterprise and mobile data networks through the implementation of cutting-edge network security technologies.
Description
Proficiently oversee comprehensive insights into multiservice platforms alongside routing protocols—including ISIS, RIP, RSVP, OSPF, BGP, and IBP—and conduct detailed troubleshooting down to the packet-level resolution.
Proficient understanding of IP/MPLS protocols, NMS systems, and firewalls is essential, along with expertise in Cisco Works and CIC. The role requires familiarity with Layer 2 and 3 VPN technologies, ensuring alignment with specified Service Level Agreements.
Design and deploy both site-to-site and remote access virtual private networks (VPNs) to establish secure, encrypted connections between distinct network locations and allow authorized users to access internal resources remotely.
Design and deploy firewall solutions alongside network access control systems to enforce robust security protocols.
Develop and deploy ground-to-ground business connectivity solutions, including General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technologies, to facilitate seamless data transmission between locations.
Implement network access control measures across various IP/MPLS network segments to ensure secure and regulated connectivity.
Implement and enforce robust security protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access and potential breaches.
Facilitate the resolution and escalation of network-related faults while ensuring network clearance rates are maintained.
Deliver high-quality implementation of new data and services in collaboration with Marketing and IP System planning teams.
Execute the implementation and transition of new nodes as part of the system infrastructure upgrades.
Offer expert emergency maintenance services for IP/MPLS networks, leveraging advanced troubleshooting capabilities and a strong foundation in cybersecurity measures to ensure rapid resolution and network integrity.
Ensure the Planned Works Completion rate is met or exceeded.
Collaborate with intellectual property vendors while serving as the intermediary between Technical Assistance Center (TAC) teams and vendor support personnel at Tier 2 and 3 levels.
Deliver measurable value by cultivating strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Demonstrates a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, with proficiency in relevant software systems and tools. Exhibits strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data management and reporting. Must possess excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards is essential. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high performance standards is necessary.
Education: Successful candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field from an accredited institution. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications are advantageous. Prior academic coursework in the specified discipline is required, along with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
A CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification is a valuable asset for this role.
A Professional Level Cisco Certification, particularly in Security, is a mandatory requirement for this role.
A CCIE Security certification could provide a significant competitive edge in the selection process.
