You will be responsible for overseeing and executing key tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role requires meeting deadlines, managing priorities, and collaborating across teams to achieve project objectives. You may be tasked with analyzing data, preparing reports, and maintaining documentation to support decision-making processes. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to evolving priorities are essential for success in this position. Additionally, you will liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns that arise during project execution.

Facilitate procurement activities for WASH infrastructure initiatives by identifying and engaging suitable contractors, conducting comprehensive bid evaluations, performing thorough due diligence assessments, and finalizing contract documentation.

Provide technical guidance, oversight, and assurance to ensure the proper construction and rehabilitation of boreholes, latrines, medical incinerators, and other WASH infrastructure.

Develop technical designs, compile Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s), track progress measurements, and enforce contractors’ adherence to contractual obligations, organizational policies, and quality benchmarks.

Collaborate effectively with government entities, WASH stakeholders, community organizations, and Washrooms to uphold regulatory standards, foster community engagement, and facilitate seamless project execution.

Monitor project activities against established work plans, perform on-site inspections, and support the timely delivery of project deliverables while ensuring optimal utilization of available resources.

Develop, organize, and update project documentation, while designing and overseeing monitoring systems. Additionally, prepare and contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, compile lessons learned, craft success stories, and deliver program updates.

Integrate approaches focused on community engagement, gender considerations, protection, accountability to affected populations, and capacity-building into all WASH activities, ensuring full compliance with organizational security and operational policies.

Your profile

A bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Health, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.

Proficiency in WASH emergency response, with a deep emphasis on community engagement strategies and a solid understanding of Sphere and WASH Cluster standards.

Proven expertise in hygiene promotion, training delivery, non-food item (NFL) distribution, strategic planning, and comprehensive reporting, with a track record of effectively implementing these functions.

Proficiency in behavior change strategies and community engagement frameworks is required.

Experienced in integrating gender perspectives, protection principles, and inclusion strategies into humanitarian initiatives to ensure equitable and effective outcomes.

Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential, with fluency in Hausa and/or other local languages serving as a valuable advantage.

Capable of traveling frequently to remote locations and performing effectively under emergency circumstances.
