You will be tasked with managing a range of responsibilities, including overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and fostering a productive work environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success, analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency. Your role will require strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of accountability and professionalism.

Facilitate the procurement lifecycle for WASH infrastructure initiatives by overseeing contractor identification, bid assessment, due diligence procedures, and the preparation of contract documentation.

Provide technical leadership, guidance, and quality assurance throughout the construction and rehabilitation of boreholes, latrines, medical incinerators, and other WASH infrastructure.

Craft technical designs, develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s), and conduct progress measurements while verifying contractor adherence to contractual obligations, organizational policies, and established quality standards.

Collaborate with governmental bodies, WASH stakeholders, community organizations, and Washrooms to uphold compliance standards, foster active community engagement, and facilitate seamless project execution.

You will oversee project activities in alignment with established work plans, perform detailed site inspections, and participate in delivering project outputs punctually while optimizing resource utilization.

Develop and sustain comprehensive project documentation, implement and oversee monitoring systems, and actively participate in the creation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, as well as lessons learned, success stories, and program updates.

Integrate community engagement, gender considerations, protection measures, accountability to affected populations, and capacity-building strategies into every WASH initiative, ensuring strict compliance with organizational security protocols and operational guidelines.

Your profile

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.

Proficiency in WASH emergency response initiatives, with a particular emphasis on community engagement strategies, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of Sphere and WASH Cluster standards.

Proven expertise in hygiene promotion initiatives, delivering training programs, distributing non-food items (NFS), strategic planning, and comprehensive reporting.

Proficient in behavior change strategies and community engagement frameworks.

Possesses a comprehensive grasp of gender dynamics, protection principles, and inclusive approaches within humanitarian contexts.

Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential, while proficiency in Hausa and/or other local languages is advantageous.

Capable of undertaking extensive travel to distant, off-site locations and functioning effectively in high-pressure, emergency settings.
