Job Objective and Summary

The Marketing Officer serves as an entry-level administrative and operational position, offering cross-functional assistance to all marketing teams, including E-Commerce, Marketing Operations, and New Product Development. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager for Digital Sales, this role encompasses responsibilities such as campaign tracking, store opening coordination, report management, oversight of third-party logistics partners, and ensuring each marketing department receives the necessary administrative support to maintain efficient execution.

Oversee the primary functions and critical performance metrics of the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and execute strategies to achieve key deliverables, maintaining accountability for outcomes. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and innovation in project execution. Collects, analyzes, and maintains accurate reports while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards. Manages databases and information systems to support decision-making processes, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, validate data sources, and implement improvements in reporting methodologies. Compile and circulate weekly and monthly performance reports encompassing sales data, campaign metrics, and e-commerce KPIs to all marketing departments.

Maintain a centralized marketing dashboard to monitor critical metrics including store-level revenue, cancellation rates, product availability, and campaign efficacy.

Compile and organize information across various platforms, including both physical and digital channels, into polished, professional formats suitable for internal presentations and executive assessments.

Track and identify irregularities in weekly data, including notable decreases in store performance, sudden surges, or changes in regional trends, and promptly notify the appropriate department head for further action.

Campaign Tracking & Administrative Support involves meticulous oversight of promotional initiatives and provision of essential operational assistance. This role encompasses monitoring campaign performance metrics, compiling detailed progress reports, and ensuring data accuracy for strategic decision-making. Additionally, responsibilities include maintaining organized records, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and handling routine administrative duties such as scheduling, correspondence, and documentation management to support seamless workflow execution.

Monitor campaign execution, ensuring all deliverables, deadlines, and progress updates are accurately documented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Prepare and document minutes from marketing team meetings, cross-functional reviews, and briefing sessions, ensuring timely follow-up on all action items through our project management tools.

Oversee the organization and maintenance of marketing files, trackers, SOPs, and documentation within shared drives while ensuring strict version control and seamless accessibility.

Store Opening Coordination (Marketing Operations Support) involves orchestrating all logistical and promotional activities to ensure a seamless and impactful launch of new retail locations. This role requires meticulous planning, cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, and operations teams, and adherence to strict timelines and budgets. Responsibilities include managing vendor relationships, coordinating opening-day events, developing launch campaigns, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize future initiatives. Candidates must possess strong project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining brand consistency and customer engagement.

Provide comprehensive administrative assistance throughout the entire lifecycle of new store openings by facilitating seamless communication and coordination between Marketing Operations, Store Development, and external vendors.

Monitor the progress of new store openings by overseeing critical timelines, ensuring milestone checklists are completed on schedule, and managing marketing activation deliverables—including signage, digital listings, and launch campaigns.

Verify that all newly opened stores are correctly registered and activated across every digital channel, including Google Maps, aggregator applications, the official website, and social media platforms, prior to and on the launch date.

Liaise with suppliers to procure and deliver all opening day marketing materials—including branded assets, point-of-sale materials, and flyers—ensuring timelines are strictly adhered to.

Oversee the continuous updating of a live retail store tracker, ensuring it accurately reflects the status, scheduled opening dates, marketing readiness, and post-opening performance metrics.

We oversee performance monitoring for e-commerce platforms and third-party logistics (3PL) networks to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. This involves evaluating order fulfillment processes, tracking inventory accuracy, and analyzing shipping performance across multiple channels. Key responsibilities include identifying bottlenecks in supply chain workflows, conducting routine audits of system integrations, and generating actionable insights to optimize warehouse and distribution operations. The role requires a strong understanding of logistics metrics, proficiency in data analysis tools, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements. Candidates must demonstrate experience in e-commerce environments with a focus on scalability and customer satisfaction.

Each day, perform a comprehensive review of product availability across all active e-commerce channels, promptly identifying and reporting any discrepancies such as items erroneously marked as live or those that have been deactivated.

Oversee the weekly evaluation of third-party logistics (3PL) performance metrics, specifically focusing on cancellation rates by each partner.

Collaborate closely with store operators and the operations team to promptly update product listings when items become unavailable, adhering to the established product availability management framework.

Support the oversight of cancellation reports, which involve monitoring cancellations stemming from product shortages, order inaccuracies, or fulfillment errors, while compiling weekly summaries.

Track and measure critical success metrics to evaluate performance effectiveness, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and driving continuous improvement across key business areas. Regularly analyze KPI data to identify trends, assess progress toward goals, and make data-driven decisions to optimize operational efficiency and strategic outcomes.

Consistently delivering precise, timely weekly reports with minimal need for revisions from the team.

New store openings proceed with no marketing-related delays, as all digital listings go live, assets are delivered, and launch campaigns are activated punctually.

The E-Commerce team maintains real-time awareness of product availability challenges, ensuring that 3PL (third-party logistics) performance is monitored and escalated promptly.

Campaign trackers and departmental calendars are consistently maintained and updated to reflect the most accurate and up-to-date information at all times.

Quarterly performance reviews and rigorous follow-up protocols have led to a notable reduction in cancellation rates due to product unavailability.

Knowledge Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or an equivalent discipline is required.

Proficiency in foundational data visualization platforms, including Google Looker Studio and Power BI, is required.

Proven experience with e-commerce platforms or food delivery applications such as Jumia, Chow deck, and similar systems is required.

Proficient in meticulous data entry, reporting, and campaign tracking is essential, requiring a keen attention to detail.

Demonstrates strong competency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, with the ability to design, update, and manage dynamic trackers efficiently.

Proven track record of employment within quick-service restaurants, fast-moving consumer goods enterprises, or retail establishments is highly desirable.
