Food Concepts began operations in 2001 with a clear and focused mission: to transform the food industry in West Africa and deliver exceptional value to our stakeholders.
The company’s journey started with the introduction of the food court concept in Nigeria, a groundbreaking offering at the time. Simultaneously, we expanded into West Africa by bringing in established Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brands from South Africa. Since then, we have developed our own proprietary brands, which now hold leading positions in the market. Among these, Chicken Republic stands as our flagship brand, widely recognized as a success story in the industry.
Since its launch in 2004, Chicken Republic has expanded to 55 locations across Nigeria and Ghana. This growth has firmly established the brand as the fastest-growing chicken QSR in West Africa and the top chicken QSR in Nigeria, measured by both revenue and number of outlets. Furthermore, Chicken Republic was named one of Nigeria’s top 20 brands across all industries (Financial Standards Awards, 2009).
