Our esteemed client, a well-established cashew processing enterprise with an extensive production infrastructure across Nigeria, is actively recruiting skilled and seasoned Shelling Machine Operators to join their team without delay.
Oversee and execute primary duties encompassing a wide range of operational and strategic tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop, implement, and monitor initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and performance across key functional areas. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive project completion, resolve challenges, and maintain high standards of quality and compliance. Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend data-driven solutions to optimize workflows and resource allocation. Serve as a key liaison with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, transparency, and alignment on priorities and deliverables.
Operate shelling machines by loading raw cashew nuts into the equipment and overseeing the shelling process to ensure proper functioning and efficiency.
Adjust machine parameters—such as speed, pressure, and blade clearance—according to nut dimensions to reduce kernel damage.
Perform thorough quality inspections on shelled kernels to detect any instances of breakage, shell residue, or other irregularities.
Responsible for diagnosing minor equipment malfunctions, clearing obstructions, conducting regular maintenance cleaning, and escalating significant operational faults to the maintenance department for resolution.
Adhere strictly to all established safety protocols and wear the mandated personal protective equipment, such as gloves, safety goggles, and hearing protection, at all times.
Ensure daily production targets are consistently met while maintaining minimal kernel breakage rates.
Accurately document machine operations, including runtime, production output, downtime, and maintenance activities to ensure comprehensive record-keeping.
Requirements
A minimum of two years of hands-on experience operating shelling machines or comparable production equipment within a manufacturing setting is required.
Proficient in overseeing and modifying machine parameters to optimize production efficiency.
Exhibits meticulous attention to precision and thoroughness in all tasks performed.
Proficient in performing fundamental troubleshooting procedures and routine machine maintenance tasks.
Possesses a solid comprehension of workplace health and safety regulations and practices.
Willingness to work in More-Ibafo, Gun State, is a prerequisite for this position.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
