Background

DESCOPE is seeking to recruit a skilled consultant to develop and implement a comprehensive Life Skills Training program for adolescents, youth, and other at-risk populations. This initiative forms a vital part of the NHF reserved allocation project, “Integrated Life-Saving Nutrition and Protection Assistance for Conflict-Affected Populations in Saga, Conduct, and Gala Gas, Born State.” The program aims to enhance participants’ psychosocial resilience, improve their decision-making abilities, and foster socio-economic preparedness within these fragile, conflict-impacted communities.

The training initiative addresses essential needs identified among adolescents in at-risk environments, with an emphasis on fostering self-awareness, personal safety, emotional health, effective communication, and long-term preparedness. To ensure lasting results, the chosen consultant must develop and execute a well-structured, participatory, and child-focused curriculum, delivered across a 12-week period in Saga Local Government Area, Born State.

The consultant is required to endorse and adhere to DESCOPE’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct. Should there be any suspicion or allegation of child abuse, the consultant must notify the Safeguarding Focal Person within 24 hours.
