Job Summary
The Hospitalist oversees the comprehensive care of inpatients from the point of admission until discharge, ensuring seamless and high-quality medical treatment throughout their hospital stay. This position is centered on providing coordinated inpatient care, enhancing patient outcomes, and optimizing the efficient utilization of hospital resources.
The Hospitalist collaborates effectively with diverse multidisciplinary teams to oversee the treatment of both acute and chronic medical conditions in an inpatient hospital environment.

Deliver holistic, evidence-based medical management to inpatients, ensuring their comprehensive care throughout hospitalization.
Perform comprehensive initial evaluations of patients, formulate individualized treatment strategies, and oversee the continuity of their care.
Perform daily ward rounds and maintain precise documentation of clinical findings.
Observe and evaluate patient responses to therapy, modifying interventions to ensure optimal outcomes in alignment with evolving clinical needs.
Oversee the treatment of acute illnesses, the management of chronic disease exacerbations, and post-operative patient care.
Respond without delay to urgent inpatient crises and clinical declines in patient condition.
Promote the implementation of evidence-based clinical practices while strictly adhering to established protocols.
Manage and supervise the admissions’ workflow, ensuring meticulous handling of clerical tasks and accurate documentation.
Conduct daily ward rounds and oversee the prompt review of every patient’s condition.
Facilitate discharge planning processes to ensure patients receive safe and timely transitions of care, thereby optimizing continuity of treatment and support.
Compile discharge summaries, prescribe medications, and establish follow-up care plans for patients.
Partner with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Collaborate with other departments to initiate referrals and consultations as needed.
Facilitate seamless transitions of care across emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings to maintain continuity and quality of patient treatment.
Engage in collaborative case reviews and discussions across various disciplines.
Developing evidence-based protocols and guidelines, you will educate medical officers and nurses on their implementation in patient care.
Comply with established clinical protocols, guidelines, and evidence-based practices to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.
Contribute to quality enhancement efforts and conduct clinical audits as part of ongoing improvement initiatives.
Monitor and analyze quality improvement and patient safety metrics, such as medication errors, hospital readmissions, and adverse events, to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
Maintain adherence to all infection prevention and control protocols to safeguard the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
Document clinical incidents and engage in root-cause analysis (RCA) to identify underlying causes and drive corrective actions.
Ensure medical records are meticulously maintained, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
Ensure clear, compassionate communication with patients and their families concerning diagnosis, treatment options, and projected outcomes.
Ensure comprehensive and concise handovers are conducted at the conclusion of each shift to facilitate seamless transitions and maintain operational continuity.
Facilitate compliance with accreditation standards, such as those set by the Joint Commission International.
Facilitate transparent and compassionate communication with patients and their families, providing comprehensive updates on diagnoses, treatment strategies, and potential outcomes.

Facilitate seamless patient movement throughout the entire care journey, from initial admission through to final discharge.

Oversee the performance of medical officers to ensure adherence to protocols and standards.
Engage in the clinical instruction and mentorship of junior physicians to enhance their professional development and competency.
Provide guidance and instruction to clinical personnel to enhance their professional development and ensure competency in their roles.
Attend and contribute to clinical meetings, case reviews, ecosystem grand rounds, and various departmental activities.
Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth by actively pursuing continuing professional development (CPD) and ensuring familiarity with the most current medical practices and guidelines.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies and clinical governance frameworks.
Help enhance bed management processes and improve overall patient flow efficiency.
Take part in on-call duty schedules and rotating shift assignments.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of three years of experience in the relevant field, preferably in a managerial position. The ideal applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline, along with proficiency in industry-standard software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also required to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. The role demands a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
Hold an accredited medical degree, such as an MBBS or an equivalent qualification, conferred by a recognized institution.
Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYC) is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Requires a minimum of five to seven years of hands-on clinical practice.
Holds a current and valid medical license to practice.
A proven ability to deliver exceptional clinical care and precise diagnostic capabilities.
Proficient in advanced life support techniques is essential.
Proficient in utilizing computers and related software applications is essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the capacity to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
