What you will do:
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily culinary operations throughout all service periods.
Craft and deliver fusion dishes that blend Afro-inspired and international culinary traditions while maintaining uncompromising quality standards.
Assume full responsibility for kitchen operations during the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring sustained quality standards and workflow efficiency without compromise.
Help create innovative dishes and refresh seasonal menus in alignment with the restaurant’s distinctive fusion concept.
Responsibilities include overseeing kitchen inventory, with duties encompassing stock monitoring, procurement of supplies, and monitoring waste levels.
Responsibilities include ensuring precise portion control, proper food preparation, and consistent plating standards across all stations.
Provide instruction and mentorship to junior kitchen personnel regarding proper techniques, established standards, and food safety protocols.
Consistently uphold rigorous hygiene and cleanliness protocols throughout the kitchen environment at all times.
What we are looking for:
Requires a minimum of three years of professional kitchen experience, including practical involvement with fusion cuisine, encompassing both Afro and international culinary styles.
A degree or diploma from an accredited culinary institution is beneficial; however, substantial hands-on experience in the field may also be considered.
A deep understanding of a wide range of ingredients, culinary methods, and flavor dynamics spanning various global cuisines is required.
Consistently manages inventory tracking, stock control processes, and kitchen reporting duties with precision and dependability.
Demonstrates strong leadership skills to manage and oversee kitchen operations confidently and autonomously when the situation demands.
Maintaining meticulous standards in food quality, presentation, and hygiene is essential.
Maintains composure, concentration, and effectiveness even amid high-volume service demands.
A collaborative professional who readily accepts guidance and actively fosters a positive kitchen environment.
