Our esteemed client, a well-regarded hotel operating in the Amino Odin districts of Lagos and Abuja, is seeking a highly skilled and seasoned hotel Accountant alongside a Head of Internal Audit. The selected candidates will assume responsibility for key duties, including ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, overseeing internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include the compilation of monthly management accounts and the preparation or oversight of daily revenue ledgers.
Compiling the schedule of all statutory obligations and ensuring their timely remittance is required.
Collaborate closely with management and the internal audit team to develop and implement internal control procedures. Evaluate existing controls, identify areas for enhancement, and present actionable recommendations to management for any required adjustments.
Ensures all expenditures comply with established budgetary constraints while obtaining necessary approvals for each expense.
Candidates should possess strong expertise in inventory management and collaborate with team members to oversee monthly stocktaking and reconciliation processes, while ensuring strict adherence to established inventory procedures.
Compiles or coordinates with fellow account officers to produce the monthly bank reconciliation statement.
Liaise with the procurement department and store to prepare payment schedules for all creditors, as well as collaborate with the front desk manager to calculate receivables.
The ideal candidate should hold a minimum of an HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, complemented by ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) and/or AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualifications, along with several years of relevant professional experience. Advanced standing in ICAN will be viewed favorably. Candidates possessing ICAN AAT2 or Foundation level certifications, backed by substantial experience, are also encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as familiarity with at least one accounting software, is essential.
