This role is pivotal in advancing the missionaries’ purpose to ‘Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.’ Teachers serve as foundational support personnel, contributing individually at an entry level while assisting in the training of missionaries across diverse settings and subject areas. Instruction may encompass language proficiency, gospel doctrine, Preach My Gospel training, and the development of missionary skills. Teachers provide guidance to both junior and senior missionaries, whether before their entry into the Missionary Training Center (MTC), during their time at the MTC, or after their departure. They adhere to a standardized curriculum and may be chosen to engage in pilot programs or special initiatives.

Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency in all activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals through effective communication and strategic planning. Monitor performance indicators and generate reports to evaluate progress, identify trends, and implement improvements as necessary. Participate in decision-making processes to allocate resources, prioritize tasks, and address operational challenges proactively.

Reports directly to a trainer or supervisor within the Training department.

Delivers guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to missionaries across various instructional formats, including individualized coaching sessions, small group discussions, large-scale training workshops, and oversight of Canvas engagement and discussion board activities.

Plans and develops lessons in alignment with the approved curriculum, collaborating with a companion teacher (where applicable) to ensure the missionary’s needs are met.

Oversees the preparation and financial management of missionaries’ educational programs.

Implements guidance and instruction provided by the Teacher Trainer/Supervisor, the Manager of Training, and the Senior Manager of Training.

Participates actively in weekly training sessions as well as collaborative co-teacher meetings.

Provides support to area leadership in collaborating with mission and Missionary Department leadership as needed.

Prepares and presents updates on the status and advancements of designated assignments to senior management.

Experienced professionals provide instruction and mentorship to missionaries to equip them for both simulated and real-world teaching sessions.

Candidates may be required to evaluate the language proficiency of prospective missionaries and teaching staff in the target language.

May assume supplementary duties as an Actor to portray an individual who is not a member and seeks information about The Church of Jesus Christ.

Depending on available time, this role may encompass additional duties as a Training Area Assistant.

Assigned temporary responsibilities at the MTC may encompass supporting Mission Leadership Seminars, among other duties as required.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Candidates must demonstrate a track record of delivering measurable results and possess the ability to adapt to evolving business needs. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and best practices within the field is also required.

Required:

Must possess recent experience as a missionary, having successfully completed a full-term mission.

Proficiency in a designated second language is a prerequisite for roles in language instruction.

Proven expertise in coaching, facilitation, and training, demonstrated through exceptional skills and abilities, is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of developing and delivering impactful training programs while fostering an engaging and effective learning environment.

Demonstrates a comprehensive grasp of *Preach My Gospel* and its principles. Applies its teachings effectively in missionary work and scriptural study. Familiar with its structure, doctrines, and application in proselytizing efforts.

Proficient in fostering strong interpersonal relationships, adept at prioritizing tasks effectively, maintaining a high standard of professionalism, and demonstrating exceptional leadership capabilities.
