This role plays a pivotal part in fulfilling missionaries’ divine commission to ‘invite others to come unto Christ by assisting them in embracing the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, reception of the gift of the Holy Ghost, and steadfast endurance.’ As foundational contributors, teachers provide entry-level support by instructing missionaries across diverse settings and subjects. Instructional responsibilities encompass language proficiency, gospel doctrine, *Preach My Gospel* methodologies, and the cultivation of essential missionary competencies. Teachers may guide both junior and senior missionaries—prior to their MTC assignment, during their time at the MTC, and following their departure from the MTC. They adhere to a standardized curriculum and may be chosen to engage in pilot programs and special initiatives.

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in adherence to established guidelines. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance productivity and drive organizational growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives and foster a cohesive work environment. Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable insights to senior leadership for continuous improvement. Manage staff performance through regular evaluations, coaching, and professional development initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing concerns and facilitating effective communication.

The position reports directly to a trainer or supervisor within the Training department.

Delivers guidance, direction, feedback, and mentorship to missionaries across various training environments, including individualized coaching sessions, small-group discussions, large-scale workshops, as well as tracking Canvas engagement and forum participation.

Plans and implements lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum, collaborating with a companion teacher (if applicable) to address the missionary’s specific needs.

Supervises missionaries in organizing and managing their educational planning and financial records.

Executes directives and instructional guidance provided by the Teacher Trainer/Supervisor, as well as the Manager of Training and Senior Manager of Training.

Attends weekly training sessions and engages in collaborative co-teacher discussions.

Provides support to regional leadership in collaborating with Mission and Missionary Department leadership upon request.

Prepares and delivers updates on the status and development of assigned projects to senior management.

Coaches provide mentorship to missionaries, guiding them through preparation phases and during both practice sessions and live instructional deliveries.

Candidates might be required to evaluate the proficiency levels of missionaries and teacher applicants in the target language.

May assume supplementary responsibilities as an Actor, portraying an individual unaffiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ who expresses interest in learning more about its teachings.

Depending on available hours, additional duties may be assigned in the capacity of a Training Area Assistant.

May involve performing additional temporary assignments at the Mission Training Center, such as supporting Mission Leadership Seminar activities.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential. At least three years of experience in software development or a comparable role is necessary. Familiarity with database management systems and cloud computing platforms is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are critical. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are also required.

Required:

A returned missionary is required for this position.

Proficiency in the designated second language is essential for roles involving language instruction.

Accomplished in delivering exceptional coaching, facilitation, and training, with a proven ability to engage and develop individuals and teams effectively.

Proficiency in Preach My Gospel is required, along with a comprehensive understanding of its principles and teachings.
