Execute ring cuts on live fiber networks while maintaining uninterrupted service for existing customers.
Conduct fiber optic testing utilizing Others (Optical Time Domain Reflectometers), light sources, and power meters.
Responsibilities include the termination, splicing, bonding, grounding, and testing of fiber optic equipment in adherence to established division standards.
Maintain precise records within the fiber database, documenting equipment locations as well as splicing and termination details.
Work in collaboration with the Construction and Engineering departments to facilitate the acceptance and activation of the fiber network.
Install fiber optic equipment, patch panels, and associated cabling in accordance with established technical standards and specifications.
Monitor, identify, and communicate issues impacting fiber or fiber-related equipment, then implement corrective measures to resolve them.
Responsibilities include setting up demarcation enclosures and installing additional telecom equipment.
Proficient in advanced fiber optic splicing methodologies is essential.
We utilize specialized tools including Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (Others), power meters, traffic identifiers, digital multimeters, cleavers, strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, toners, duct Rodgers, ladders, and bucket trucks to perform our duties efficiently.
Proficient in working independently with minimal oversight, leveraging technical expertise to analyze challenges and determine optimal solutions.
Perform duties across a range of schedules, encompassing both standard duty hours and on-call responsibilities.
