The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will undertake a range of responsibilities, including the following tasks:
Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and mid-term evaluations.
Assist in the development of data collection instruments and analytical frameworks.
Facilitate the gathering, input, verification, and refinement of data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Ensure strict adherence to all data quality protocols throughout the processes of data collection and cleaning.
Responsibilities include gathering and organizing data, conducting preliminary analyses, creating visual representations of data, preparing reports, and ensuring the timely distribution of findings.
Collaborate with the RATS team to craft detailed reports, compile and analyze data, and share key success stories alongside critical lessons learned.
Facilitate the organization and coordination of daily research activities in alignment with established project execution plans.
Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as designated by the supervisor, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and objectives.
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in industry-standard software tools, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ideal applicant must demonstrate a capacity for teamwork, adaptability to evolving project demands, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or a closely related quantitative discipline is required.
Proficiency in utilizing State or SPSS for analyzing survey data is a prerequisite for this role.
Individuals must possess robust quantitative abilities alongside proficiency in data visualization and statistical tools, including Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency in research execution, survey data analysis, and program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in handling extensive secondary datasets, including MICS, DHS, and NARKS, is highly desirable.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in both verbal and written English communication, coupled with an unwavering commitment to excellence and meticulous attention to detail.
