Job Description

The Tax Manager oversees the strategic administration of the Bank’s tax obligations for RMB Nigeria, its subsidiaries, and affiliated entities. This position guarantees adherence to Nigerian tax legislation and regulatory standards, enhances the Bank’s tax efficiency, and mitigates tax-related risks while acting as the key liaison with tax authorities and external consultants.

Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure efficient workflow, maintaining high productivity and quality standards. Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to uphold compliance and safety regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate projects, resolve issues, and achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

Ensures adherence to tax regulations and fulfills reporting obligations with precision and timeliness. Manages the preparation and submission of tax filings, including income, sales, payroll, and other applicable taxes, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Conducts thorough reviews of financial records to identify potential tax savings opportunities and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation and data for accurate tax reporting. Stays updated on evolving tax legislation and industry best practices to implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.

Oversee the prompt preparation, filing, and payment of all statutory tax obligations, including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value-Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), Stamp Duties, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and other relevant levies.

Compile and validate annual tax computations and statutory filings to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsible for managing tax accounting activities, preparing provisions, and ensuring compliance with IFRS for disclosures, maintaining accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.

Ensure adherence to the provisions of the Bank and Other Financial Institutions Act (SOFIA), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directives, and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Oversee the development and enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations and mitigate risks associated with intercompany transactions. Establish robust governance frameworks to monitor adherence to transfer pricing methodologies, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements across global operations. Lead cross-functional teams to conduct thorough reviews of intercompany agreements, pricing structures, and financial transactions, ensuring alignment with arm’s length principles and local tax laws. Collaborate with tax, finance, and legal departments to address transfer pricing audits, disputes, and controversies effectively. Monitor evolving regulatory changes and industry best practices to proactively adapt governance strategies and maintain organizational resilience.

Verify the accurate implementation of transfer pricing methodologies in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Oversee the development and timely filing of Transfer Pricing Local and Master Files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Serve as the main liaison for transfer pricing audits and examinations.

Review intercompany agreements thoroughly to ensure adherence to arm’s length principles and regulatory compliance.
