Job Summary
A highly organized and proactive Risk Officer is required to proactively identify, evaluate, track, and mitigate operational, financial, compliance, and business risks throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will assume a pivotal position in enhancing internal controls, maintaining regulatory compliance, and facilitating business continuity efforts.
Oversee and execute critical responsibilities integral to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Lead key initiatives, manage cross-functional projects, and drive operational efficiency through strategic planning and implementation. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, fostering collaboration and communication to achieve collective goals. Monitor progress, analyze performance metrics, and provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. Uphold compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards while maintaining a focus on quality and accountability. Evaluate and assess potential risks that could affect the organization’s operations, financial stability, reputation, and regulatory compliance obligations.
Design and establish robust risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure comprehensive oversight and mitigation of organizational risks.
Review internal control systems and identify areas of potential risk, subsequently proposing enhancements to strengthen operational safeguards and reduce vulnerabilities.
Perform regular evaluations of risks and compile detailed risk reports for submission to management for their consideration.
Maintain adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and established internal policies.
Partner with various departments to proactively assess potential risk exposures and introduce effective corrective measures.
Conduct thorough examinations of risk incidents, control breaches, and operational failures, then formulate actionable recommendations to avert future occurrences.
Facilitate internal and external audit processes while driving prompt resolution of audit findings.
Oversee the upkeep of risk registers and monitor the progression of risk mitigation strategies to ensure timely implementation and resolution.
Deliver comprehensive training sessions to enhance employees’ understanding of risk management principles and best practices, offering expert guidance to foster a proactive risk-aware culture.
Track and analyze evolving risks as well as key developments within the industry to assess potential impacts on organizational functions.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
Require a minimum of three to four years of professional experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, or Internal Control.
Highly preferred is prior experience gained within an audit firm setting.
Proficiency in finance and accounting functions will be strongly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in analytical reasoning, effective problem-solving, and meticulous investigative capabilities.
Proficient knowledge of risk management principles, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements is required.
Strong expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on advanced Excel skills, is essential for this role.
Skilled in crafting clear, concise reports, facilitating seamless communication, and fostering productive stakeholder relationships.
