Primary purpose:

Operational support is provided to the hotel’s internal control and compliance program by conducting routine control tests, recording exceptions, supporting investigations, and verifying the timely completion of remediation measures to safeguard hotel assets and uphold its reputation.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties encompassing the planning, execution, and evaluation of [specific task/process], ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and adherence to established standards. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless communication, streamline workflows, and drive project milestones to successful completion. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and implement data-driven strategies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear guidance, resolving escalated issues, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal policies throughout all operational activities.

Daily operations involve conducting thorough cash counts, performing spot checks on point-of-sale reconciliation, reviewing night audit variances, and verifying petty cash balances across all outlets.

Conduct thorough transaction testing by meticulously sampling and verifying guest folios, credit card settlements, supplier invoices, and payroll entries to ensure accuracy and adherence to established policies.

Conduct inventory verification by participating in cycle counts for food and beverage, minibar, and housekeeping stores; maintain detailed records of inventory shrinkage and assist in implementing loss prevention strategies.

Verify procurement documentation—including purchase orders, approval matrices, and vendor records—to ensure compliance with established controls and mitigate the risk of unauthorized expenditures.

Ensure compliance by managing checklists for statutory, brand, and corporate mandates; generate weekly control reports and promptly escalate any exceptions.

Investigations and remediation responsibilities include providing support for fraud or discrepancy investigations, monitoring corrective actions, and confirming that all actions have been properly closed.

Provide foundational control awareness training sessions and support the implementation of updated policies.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, preferably with CPA or CFA certification. Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience is required, including proficiency in GAAP and tax regulations. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. Excellent communication abilities to present complex financial information clearly are necessary. Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is preferred. The role demands adherence to strict ethical standards and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Excel and advanced financial modeling is a must. Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls is highly desirable.

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline is required.

Seeking candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in hotel operations, internal audit, or finance, with prior hands-on experience with PMS/POS systems, such as Opera, considered a strong asset.

Requires meticulous attention to detail, a foundational forensic approach, proficiency in Excel, the ability to produce clear written reports, and strong communication skills with stakeholders.

On-site position requiring flexible scheduling across rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, to ensure continuous outlet operations and adherence to audit protocols.
