The Head, Finance & Accounts will lead all accounting functions at JC International, ensuring precise financial reporting, adherence to regulatory standards, and the development of strategic financial initiatives. This senior role involves directing the accounts team to uphold financial transparency, enhance resource distribution, and deliver strategic insights that inform decisions and foster business expansion.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in driving key initiatives and ensuring operational excellence. Your responsibilities will encompass leading strategic projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering measurable results that align with our organizational objectives. Additionally, you will be tasked with analyzing performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. This position demands strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsible for ensuring the precise preparation, accuracy, and punctual submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with relevant regulatory and accounting standards.

Oversee the ongoing maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger, guaranteeing the precise documentation of every financial transaction.

Compile and deliver financial analyses, projections, and performance evaluations to leadership to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Monitor financial data systematically to detect emerging trends, assess variances, and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.

Collaborate with departmental heads to oversee and manage the annual budgeting process.

Monitor budget execution, analyze discrepancies, and propose corrective actions to ensure financial alignment.

Develop and execute strategies aimed at reducing expenditures to enhance overall operational performance.

Guarantee the prompt submission of tax returns and settlement of statutory obligations, including those with the FIRS, LIES, Pension, NHF, and other relevant authorities.

Establish and maintain robust internal controls to protect organizational assets and mitigate the risk of fraudulent activities.

Coordinate and facilitate both internal and external audits while ensuring the timely resolution of any identified findings.

Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations and internal company policies at all times.

Oversee cash flow management, banking operations, and partnerships with financial institutions to ensure seamless financial transactions and strategic financial planning.

Oversee working capital management to guarantee sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations and initiatives.

Assess potential investment prospects and provide strategic guidance to management regarding funding approaches.

Responsible for managing accounting software and ERP systems to ensure precise reporting and insightful analytics.

The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Strong proficiency in data analysis, project management, and industry-specific software is essential. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a track record of delivering results under tight deadlines while maintaining a detail-oriented approach. Familiarity with [specific tools, regulations, or methodologies relevant to the position] is highly advantageous.

Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting or Finance is required for this position.
