Trying is in search of a highly motivated, top-tier executive to assume full accountability for our business development initiatives and day-to-day operational activities. This multifaceted position demands an exceptional blend of a determined growth catalyst and a systematic, results-oriented operational manager.

As the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Business Development, your role will involve driving aggressive expansion of Trying’s market presence by cultivating new client relationships, crafting high-value proposals, and securing key deals. Concurrently, you will oversee the management of internal teams, refine corporate frameworks for enhanced efficiency, and uphold the delivery of seamless daily operations.

You will oversee the daily operations of the business, enabling executive leadership to dedicate their focus to long-term strategic vision and broader organizational objectives.

Oversee a range of critical duties encompassing project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client expectations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources efficiently, resolve operational challenges, and maintain high standards of quality throughout all phases of development. Monitor progress through established metrics, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and implement corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks and enhance performance. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement while adhering to industry best practices, compliance standards, and budgetary constraints.

Driving business development and revenue growth represents 50% of this role, focusing on expanding market reach and enhancing financial performance through strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and executing revenue-generating strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a results-driven mindset, and experience in market expansion and revenue optimization.

Deliver a comprehensive market research strategy from inception to completion to identify, engage, and onboard new clients spanning corporate, institutional, and public sector segments.

Proposal & Bidding Management: Responsible for leading the preparation, organization, and submission of technically sophisticated business proposals, expressions of interest (Lois), and competitive tender documents, ensuring compliance with all specified requirements.

As the primary executive representative of Trying, you will engage with new prospects, present our services, negotiate high-value contracts, and oversee client onboarding to ensure seamless integration and long-term satisfaction.

Market Strategy: Evaluate regional market dynamics to strategically position Trying’s service offerings for competitive advantage.

Orchestrating operational excellence and overseeing internal management constitutes 40% of the role, ensuring seamless coordination across teams, streamlined processes, and adherence to strategic objectives while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Oversee and manage all daily administrative and operational functions of the firm to uphold efficiency and maintain alignment with corporate objectives.

Leadership in Staff Development & Performance: Oversee the guidance, mentorship, and evaluation of internal staff and project teams. Create and implement measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while cultivating an environment that drives excellence and high performance.

Continually evaluate and enhance Trying’s internal workflows, reporting structures, and operational policies to optimize productivity and scalability.

Oversee the strategic distribution of resources, manage project schedules and logistics, and ensure that all client deliverables are completed punctually and within the designated budgetary constraints.

The position involves contributing approximately 10% of the role’s focus to strategic initiatives and reporting activities. Responsibilities include analyzing performance metrics, preparing detailed reports, and presenting insights to stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making. Key requirements encompass proficiency in reporting tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex data for strategic planning purposes.

Collaborate with the Managing Director to align operational and sales strategies with the company’s long-term vision, ensuring actionable objectives are established.

Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports that analyze business development pipelines, financial health, and operational milestones, ensuring clear presentation and comprehensive insights.

To evaluate success, key performance indicators (KPIs) will be established and monitored throughout the role. These metrics will serve as measurable benchmarks to assess progress and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Regular reviews of these KPIs will be conducted to identify strengths, address areas for improvement, and drive continuous performance enhancement. Clear, quantifiable targets will be defined to provide objective insights into effectiveness and productivity.

Achieved growth in revenue through increased volume and enhanced value of newly acquired client contracts.

Proposal Win-Rate: The effectiveness and success ratio of submitted corporate proposals.

Operational efficiency encompasses the enhancement of internal project completion rates and the optimization of resource allocation.
