Basic Functions

The Manager of Aircraft Cabin and IFE Maintenance oversees the strategic planning, implementation, and supervision of all maintenance operations pertaining to aircraft cabin interiors and In-Flight Entertainment systems within Air Peace’s fleet. This role guarantees adherence to stringent safety protocols, operational reliability, passenger comfort, and regulatory compliance in alignment with guidelines set by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, other major regulatory bodies, and Air Peace’s established procedures. The position directly reports to the Head of Maintenance.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill this critical role, requiring a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar position. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, the position demands a keen attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to meeting deadlines consistently. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience may be considered.

A Bachelor’s degree— or an equivalent qualification— in aeronautical, mechanical, or electrical engineering is required, as is a Diploma in Aviation Maintenance accompanied by ICAO Type II licenses.

With a minimum of 10 years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, with a specific focus on Cabin and IFE systems.

We possess extensive expertise in operating both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, including models such as the Boeing 737 and 777.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License with a relevant category rating—particularly in Airframe and Avionics—is required for this position.

IFE/Cabin systems-specific training from recognized providers such as Thales, Panasonic, or Collins Aerospace is highly beneficial.

Deep expertise in cabin structures, materials, and composites, combined with strong proficiency in in-flight entertainment (IFE) hardware and software systems, along with a solid aptitude for diagnosing and resolving issues in electrical, electronic, and mechanical cabin systems.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to perform effectively under pressure in a 24/7 aviation setting is essential.

Provide strategic direction and managerial oversight to the Cabin and IFE Maintenance teams, fostering their growth and operational excellence. Evaluate team performance consistently to uphold superior passenger satisfaction by ensuring the reliability and functionality of cabin systems and in-flight entertainment solutions.

Maintenance Planning & Execution: Design and enforce structured maintenance plans for cabin interiors—including seats, galleys, lavatories, carpets, panels, lighting, and other components—as well as IFE systems such as screens, servers, wiring, software, and audio/video distribution networks. Guarantee the punctual fulfillment of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, repairs, and modifications. Compliance & Safety: Verify that all maintenance activities align with NCAA regulations, OEM manuals, Air Peace Maintenance Procedures, and applicable international standards (e.g., EASA/FAA). Additionally, uphold the airworthiness of cabin and IFE components.

Quality Control responsibilities include performing thorough inspections, audits, and quality assessments of cabin and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) maintenance tasks. Additionally, the role involves overseeing defect resolution, conducting system troubleshooting, and executing testing procedures.

Resource Management: Oversee the inventory of spare parts, tools, and cabin/IFE maintenance equipment. Collaborate with suppliers, workshops, and third-party MRO providers to coordinate repair and overhaul activities.

Budget and Cost Control: Develop and oversee the departmental budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Analyze expenditures to uncover potential cost-saving measures without compromising safety or quality standards.

Ensure meticulous maintenance of accurate records, logbooks, and technical documentation. Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to senior management regarding systems reliability, recurring defects, and performance metrics.

Collaborate effectively with the Head of Maintenance, Line/Maintenance Control/Base Maintenance, Technical Services, Planning, Flight Operations, and Cabin Crew to address issues and enhance passenger satisfaction.

Identify training requirements to ensure team members obtain necessary certifications and complete recurring training on cabin and in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems.
