Oil and Gas
"Nigeria's leading oil producer and investor through joint ventures."
Chevron ranks as Nigeria’s third-largest oil producer and remains one of the country’s top investors.
In Nigeria, Chevron operates through joint-venture partnerships with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, holding assets across onshore, swamp, and near-offshore concessions spanning roughly 2.2 million acres (8,900 square kilometers) in the Niger Delta.
Additionally, Chevron holds significant deepwater interests in Nigeria, including operatorship of the Abaci Field—one of the nation’s largest deepwater discoveries—as well as a non-operating stake in the major deepwater San Project.
Through these operations, Chevron and its subsidiaries create employment opportunities for Nigerians, employing both direct staff and contracted workers.
