"Skills empower technological freedom."
The core philosophy of the polytechnic is encapsulated in its motto, *”Skill for Technological Freedom,”* which emphasizes fostering a culture of diligence among students and staff to cultivate both practical and theoretical expertise essential for self-sufficiency. The logo symbolizes this ethos through its imagery: local pottery and ceramics—one of humanity’s earliest technologies—paired with a gear-wheel stopper and ears of rice, illustrating the interplay between agricultural and engineering advancements. Together, these elements represent the dynamic evolution toward modern technological progress.
Aligned with the Federal Government’s strategic vision for Technical Education, the polytechnic’s objectives include:
– Producing skilled professionals in Applied Sciences, Technology, and Commerce, particularly at the sub-professional level;
– Equipping learners with technical and vocational competencies to drive agricultural, industrial, commercial, and economic growth;
– Training individuals to apply scientific principles in addressing environmental challenges for human benefit;
– Offering foundational exposure to professional studies in engineering and allied technological fields;
– Developing entrepreneurial and self-reliant craftsmen, technicians, and skilled personnel through hands-on training;
– Ensuring graduates possess a discerning grasp of technological advancements and their complexities.
Since its establishment in October 1981, KANU BIAM Federal Polytechnic, Nana, has consistently exceeded expectations over its 30-year history, delivering commendable performance beyond projected standards.
