The NEWS Reporter serves a critical function within the WANED Alert and Response Mechanism (WARM), where they are tasked with gathering, verifying, and disseminating precise and prompt data through the National Early Warning System (NEWS).
This role facilitates conflict prevention, peace building, and accountability by converting community-level insights into timely, actionable early warning alerts.
