Description
An Inventory Officer oversees the receipt, storage, dispatch, and monitoring of goods to ensure accurate inventory management and operational efficiency.
Maintaining precise stock records, optimizing warehouse utilization, and collaborating with procurement teams are key responsibilities to avert stock outs, reduce excess inventory, and uphold seamless operational efficiency.
Oversee the execution of critical business functions, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to established protocols. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance within the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align goals, streamline processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify areas for optimization, and drive data-driven decision-making. Lead and mentor team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to cultivate a high-performing workforce. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, organizational policies, and ethical standards while mitigating risks and addressing operational challenges proactively.
Maintain an accurate and current inventory database, systematically tracking items from receipt through shipment to ensure precise stock records.
The incumbent will examine incoming deliveries to authenticate quantities, assess quality, and evaluate condition in accordance with purchase orders, promptly documenting and escalating any discrepancies or damages observed.
Conduct routine physical stock counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy. Analyze discrepancies between physical counts and system records, then reconcile findings to identify and mitigate potential theft or loss.
Monitor stock levels diligently and coordinate with procurement teams to initiate reorders promptly, ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained at all times.
Ensure proper labeling and tagging of items, while maintaining meticulous organization within storage areas to enhance both accessibility and safety.
Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports for management, detailing stock balances, aging analysis, and inventory turnover metrics.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree and have accumulated between three and six years of professional experience in the relevant field.
