Job Summary
We are in search of a proactive, results-driven, and seasoned Sales Manager / Sales Executive to spearhead sales expansion for our tile offerings in Nigeria’s building materials sector. The preferred applicant should demonstrate deep expertise in tile products, effective dealer oversight, contractor liaison, and strategic market development.
Oversee and execute a wide array of critical tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering operational excellence. Lead cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive sustainable growth. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives that optimize performance and mitigate risks. Responsible for monitoring key performance indicators, analyzing data trends, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders to inform decision-making. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices while maintaining a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Serve as a liaison between departments to facilitate seamless communication, resolve conflicts, and align efforts toward common goals.
Formulate and execute successful sales strategies designed to meet predetermined monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
Drive sales and market floor tiles, wall tiles, porcelain tiles, ceramic tiles, and complementary building materials to targeted customers in the construction and design sectors.
Explore and cultivate innovative business prospects within the building materials and construction sector.
Broaden the scope of dealer, distributor, and contractor partnerships within designated regions.
Develop and cultivate leads by conducting market visits, monitoring project progress, leveraging referrals, and fostering meaningful customer interactions.
Develop and nurture robust partnerships with dealers, distributors, contractors, builders, architects, engineers, and construction firms to ensure seamless collaboration and mutual growth.
Frequently conduct on-site visits to dealers’ locations and project sites to assess product usage patterns and track evolving market trends.
Address customer concerns promptly and effectively while maintaining a commitment to achieving exceptional levels of satisfaction.
Deliver comprehensive guidance to customers regarding product specifications, advantages, aesthetic considerations, and proper usage techniques.
Compile regular sales reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and monitor sales performance in comparison to established targets.
Collaborate closely with various internal departments such as logistics, warehouse operations, accounting, and customer service to ensure seamless workflow and alignment across all teams.
Track inventory flow and ensure timely processing of customer orders.
Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, industry events, and marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and foster professional connections.
Perform on-site evaluations of project locations to identify and pursue potential sales prospects.
Devise and execute promotional initiatives aimed at elevating brand recognition and accelerating product adoption among target audiences.
The position necessitates a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a related field, along with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualifications. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in key technical skills, including advanced data analysis, project management methodologies, and familiarity with industry-standard software tools. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams are essential. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to convey complex information effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with compliance regulations and best practices in the field is highly advantageous.
A minimum requirement includes an HND or B.Sc. degree in disciplines such as Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
With a minimum of five years’ experience in sales within the tiles, building materials, ceramics, or sanitary wares sectors—or related fields—you possess a proven track record in driving revenue growth and fostering client relationships in a competitive marketplace. Your expertise spans key product categories, enabling you to navigate complex sales cycles while delivering tailored solutions to meet customer demands. This role demands a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to cultivate long-term partnerships with distributors, contractors, and retailers to expand market reach and maximize profitability.
Possesses in-depth expertise in the Nigerian building materials and tiles sector.
Proficiency in tile specifications, design intricacies, practical applications, and current market trends is essential.
Proficiency in understanding competitor products and their market positioning is necessary.
Proven ability to communicate effectively, negotiate adeptly, and deliver compelling presentations.
Demonstrated expertise in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite is required.
