This full-time Radiographer position is situated on-site in Lagos, requiring the incumbent to conduct diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays and related radiologic examinations based on physician directives and established clinical protocols. Core duties encompass patient preparation and positioning, operation of radiologic instruments, enhancement of image quality, and meticulous maintenance of imaging records and documentation. The role demands adherence to stringent radiation safety protocols, routine equipment inspection and calibration, and interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate prompt and accurate diagnosis and treatment plans. Additionally, the Radiographer is responsible for delivering transparent explanations of procedures to patients and their families, enforcing infection control measures, and ensuring full compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Proficient in Radiology and Radiologic Technology, with practical expertise in performing and interpreting diagnostic imaging procedures.
Skilled in Radiation Safety and Radiation principles, with proven expertise in the safe operation of imaging equipment and strict adherence to dose-reduction protocols.
A solid understanding of medical principles is essential for radiographic practice, encompassing human anatomy, physiology, and prevalent acute and surgical conditions.
Accredited institutions must confer a recognized professional qualification or diploma in Radiography or Radiologic Technology.
Eligible for registration, or currently registered, with the pertinent professional or regulatory body is required.
Proficiency in hospital or acute care settings, ideally within a multi-specialty or critical care context, is required.
Requires solid experience with digital imaging systems such as CR/DR and PACS, alongside competency in fundamental computer applications for documentation and report preparation.
Strong attention to detail, adherence to established protocols, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining patient safety and confidentiality are required.
Skilled in fostering strong communication and building rapport with patients from varied backgrounds, while also engaging effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive care.
Must demonstrate flexibility to perform various shift rotations encompassing evenings, weekends, and public holidays in accordance with operational demands.
