The Role
As the Accountant, your role will involve overseeing the hotel’s day-to-day financial activities, ensuring adherence to global hospitality accounting norms and Nigerian tax regulations. You will collaborate closely with department heads and senior leadership to enhance profitability while upholding rigorous financial precision.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution to drive organizational success. Develop and implement innovative initiatives that enhance productivity, optimize workflows, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business objectives with departmental goals, ensuring seamless communication and cohesive action. Monitor key performance indicators to evaluate progress, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective measures as needed. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies while upholding the highest standards of professional integrity and accountability.
Financial Reporting: Compiling precise monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, along with profit and loss reports, is essential to this role.
Monitor expenditures diligently, assess budget variances, and collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage and Operations teams to oversee inventory management and minimize waste.
Oversee the daily night audit process to ensure that all room, banquet, and ancillary revenues are accurately reconciled and recorded as part of the Revenue Audit responsibilities.
Ensure timely filing and remittance of all statutory deductions, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and CIT, in strict adherence to FIRS and LIES regulatory requirements.
Cash Flow Management involves supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit management, and conducting daily cash flow forecasting.
Strengthen and uphold internal control policies to ensure the protection of hotel assets and mitigate the risk of fraudulent activities.
What We Are Looking For
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
A recognized certification in accounting, such as ACA, ARCA, or CPA, is an essential requirement for this role.
A minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible accounting experience within the hospitality sector is required.
Requires expertise in hospitality ERP systems, QuickBooks, and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
