Evaluate technical documents and deliverables submitted by electrical engineering contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Verify the integrity of electrical installations such as substations, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and operational safety. Conduct thorough inspections, testing, and diagnostic evaluations to confirm proper functionality and identify any potential hazards or inefficiencies. Maintain detailed records of assessments, corrective actions, and maintenance activities to support compliance audits and operational reporting.
Responsibilities include designing and managing distribution systems, medium-voltage control centers (MCCs), cable networks, lighting installations, earthing systems, and lightning protection systems.
Perform comprehensive site inspections and technical audits to verify adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and all project requirements.
Ensure project advancement is accurately assessed and deliver expert technical guidance to support contractor payment certification.
Conduct a thorough assessment to detect potential technical risks, instances of non-compliance, and quality-related issues.
Develop comprehensive assurance reports and formulate strategic recommendations based on thorough analysis and evaluation.
Requirements
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
Professional registration from recognized bodies such as the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (CORE), Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (Cent), or an equivalent credential is required.
Associate Level candidates must possess a minimum of six years of pertinent experience, while Consultant Level applicants are required to have at least twelve years of relevant expertise in industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, fertilizer, power generation, transmission, or major infrastructure projects.
Proficient in electrical systems encompassing high, medium, and low voltage networks, as well as substations, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and power distribution.
Proficiency in IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other pertinent industry standards is required.
Consulting, Owner’s Engineer, EPC/EPCM, third-party inspection, project assurance, or technical audit experience will be highly advantageous.

Requires credentials including PMP certification, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor accreditation, BOSH qualification, IEEE membership, Electrical Safety Certification, and Protection & Control Certification or an equivalent credential.
