This position encompasses menu development, bulk ingredient preparation, inventory oversight, and maintaining an immaculate kitchen environment, with potential scheduling demands that include early morning, evening, or weekend shifts.
Oversee and execute a range of critical tasks and operational duties essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and maintaining high standards of performance. Provide strategic leadership and direction to team members, fostering collaboration and accountability to achieve departmental goals. Food preparation responsibilities include designing and preparing nutritious, visually appealing, and high-quality meals tailored to serve large groups of students and faculty.
Modify recipes and prepare alternative meal options to accommodate students with allergies, religious dietary restrictions, or medical conditions.
Ensure unwavering compliance with health and safety regulations by meticulously managing food storage practices, monitoring temperature controls, and executing thorough cleaning of the kitchen, dining hall, and all equipment.
Assist in the procurement of food deliveries, maintain accurate stock levels, and implement measures to minimize food waste.
Collaborate closely with the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager to synchronize meal preparation schedules with the school’s daily bell schedule, ensuring efficient alignment between kitchen operations and academic timing.
