To ensure prompt and reliable resolution, perform troubleshooting, field repairs, maintenance, and servicing of electrical equipment installations, generator sets, and other specialized units. Collaborate with relevant departments to uphold quality standards and expedite job completion, thereby minimizing downtime.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
We diagnose, resolve issues with, and locate faults in the electrical modules and components of Caterpillar engines (both gas and diesel), generator sets, machine systems, and specialized units—such as Atonic magnetos—reported for field repair, maintenance, and servicing tasks.
Perform comprehensive inspections, load testing, PDS, and commissioning of newly acquired Caterpillar equipment, ensuring all DSR Forms are completed accurately prior to customer delivery.
The source and procure all components necessary for designated projects and ensure timely acquisition through expedited ordering and delivery follow-ups.
Employ diagnostic instruments to accurately assess the functionality of repaired components, units, and systems.
Reads and interprets wiring diagrams and technical specifications. Executes all designated electrical tasks, which encompass electrolyte preparation and battery charging procedures.
Develop single line diagrams, perform electrical calculations, conduct cable sizing, and draft specifications for electrical materials.
Facilitates communication and collaboration with pertinent departments and the site operator to address any additional matters that may arise.
Responsible for ensuring all company-owned assets, including tools, testing equipment, and vehicles, are maintained and preserved in optimal condition.
Promptly escalate any complex issues to the relevant authorities to ensure they receive proper consideration, thereby supporting management in making well-informed repair decisions as necessary.
Prepare all required documentation and service reports, including delivery slips and SIMS, for distribution to customers and internal management as needed.
RELEVANT INFORMATION.
Holds an HND or a first degree in Electrical Engineering, supplemented by at least three years of hands-on professional experience in the field.
Proficient in Caterpillar Electrics systems, combined with a positive work ethic and strong adherence to safety protocols, alongside exceptional driving abilities and a valid professional driving license.
