You will be accountable for performing a variety of tasks, including managing projects, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring timely completion of assignments. Your duties will encompass developing and implementing strategies, analyzing data to drive decision-making, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Additionally, you will oversee workflow processes, mentor team members, and uphold company standards through rigorous performance evaluation. The role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Support the procurement of WASH infrastructure projects by identifying and engaging qualified contractors, evaluating bids, conducting thorough due diligence, and finalizing comprehensive contract documentation.

Deliver technical leadership, management, and rigorous quality control throughout the construction and rehabilitation of boreholes, latrines, medical incinerators, and other WASH infrastructure.

Develop comprehensive technical designs, compile detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s), and conduct precise progress measurements while ensuring contractors adhere to contractual obligations, organizational policies, and established quality standards.

Collaborate with governmental entities, WASH partners, community organizations, and Washrooms to uphold compliance standards, foster active community engagement, and facilitate the seamless execution of projects.

Monitor project operations in alignment with established work plans, perform on-site evaluations, and support the punctual completion of deliverables while optimizing resource utilization.

Prepare and oversee project documentation, maintain monitoring systems, and actively participate in the creation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, as well as lessons learned, success stories, and program updates.

Integrate community engagement, gender mainstreaming, protection principles, accountability to affected populations, and capacity-building methodologies into all WASH initiatives, ensuring strict compliance with organizational security protocols and operational policies.

Your profile

A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.

Proficiency in WASH emergency interventions, with a keen emphasis on community engagement strategies, and a solid grasp of Sphere and WASH Cluster standards.

Skilled in delivering hygiene promotion initiatives, conducting training sessions, managing the distribution of non-food items (NFS), and overseeing planning and reporting activities.

Proficiency in behavior change strategies and community engagement frameworks is required.

Experienced in integrating gender perspectives, protection principles, and inclusion strategies within humanitarian initiatives.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, while proficiency in Hausa and/or the local language is considered advantageous.

Proven capability to undertake extensive travel to isolated locations and perform effectively in high-pressure, emergency environments.
