Job Purpose
The Hardware Engineer is tasked with guaranteeing the dependability, innovation, and operational readiness of our physical touchpoints—namely, our POS terminals. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire hardware lifecycle, beginning with the design of circuit boards and extending to equipping repair technicians with the expertise required to sustain our fleet. You will serve as the critical interface between intricate electronic systems and the everyday business owners who rely on their seamless functionality.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties central to the role, including but not limited to managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement across departments. Serve as the primary liaison between senior leadership and staff, facilitating clear communication and alignment of organizational goals. Design and Innovation: Develop electronic hardware circuits and PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with stringent performance and reliability criteria.
Maintain and update the technical source of truth for designs by overseeing parts lists and bills of materials.
Enhance technical proficiency by creating comprehensive training programs and standardized procedures, equipping repair technicians with the skills and efficiency needed to perform their tasks accurately and expeditiously.
Craft and maintain repair manuals designed to simplify intricate repair processes, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding for users.
Conduct thorough, practical assessments of products and tools to meticulously identify design deficiencies, subsequently proposing enhancements to further elevate the quality of our hardware.
Analyze hardware specifications and market trends systematically to assess the feasibility of new designs or proposed modifications.
