Proactively advocate for and enhance the accessibility of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services within the community, integrating this effort into a collaborative, multidisciplinary framework dedicated to assisting survivors of sexual violence.

Working alongside the Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) at the Primary Health Care Center (PHC), the role involves engaging with key community stakeholders within the catchment area and implementing targeted initiatives to enhance understanding of mental health services and sexual violence prevention.

Identify community members who have experienced sexual violence and connect them with MSF’s comprehensive, multidisciplinary care at the Primary Health Care (PHC) center, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality and actively reducing the risk of further trauma.

By partnering with fellow MSF staff, implement psychosocial initiatives designed to foster community engagement in emotional wellness while reducing the psychological consequences of sexual violence and other forms of violence affecting children, adolescents, and adults.

Facilitate structured group counseling sessions, including PM+ and IPT, for patients and their families to enhance problem-solving skills and coping mechanisms.

Provide PFA and individual counseling sessions exclusively when deemed necessary and in the absence of the psychologist.

Maintain comprehensive records and statistical data pertaining to MHPSS initiatives within the community. Immediately escalate any issues encountered during daily operations to the direct supervisor for prompt resolution.
