As Group Legal Counsel within the East & North Africa legal team, you will provide leadership and guidance on a wide range of legal issues spanning key territories, encompassing commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory compliance, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions and trade controls, as well as dispute resolution. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business and legal stakeholders to manage high-value customer and supplier contracts, negotiate strategic partnerships, oversee corporate transactions, ensure robust governance practices, and deliver expert legal advice on critical matters.
As a member of the Customer Unit East & North Africa legal team, you will report directly to the Head of Legal for this region. This role is situated within one of the territories across East & North Africa.
What You’ll Do
Serve as a reliable legal advisor, delivering pragmatic and strategic counsel to facilitate alignment with business goals and the successful completion of transactions.
Facilitate and oversee negotiations for intricate customer, supplier, and partnership agreements, providing leadership and guidance throughout the process.
Identify, evaluate, and address legal and business risks to support strategic growth and organizational transformation.
Provide expert guidance on corporate governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and maintaining compliance with competition laws. Additionally, oversee data protection initiatives, safeguard intellectual property rights, and manage trade control regulations to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity.
Develop and nurture robust partnerships across diverse business units, functional areas, and global locations, promoting a culture of collaboration and open communication.
Drive capability enhancement by providing coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing opportunities, as well as implementing initiatives grounded in industry best practices.

What You’ll Bring
A highly experienced legal professional is sought, requiring a minimum of seven years of practice within a prestigious law firm or a multinational corporate legal department.
Proficiency in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance issues is essential.
Demonstrated expertise in facilitating intricate contractual agreements, conducting high-level negotiations, and managing cross-border commercial operations.
Demonstrates sharp business insight and the capacity to reconcile legal considerations with commercial goals.
Proven ability to communicate effectively, negotiate with confidence, and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
Proven capability to operate autonomously while effectively engaging and persuading key decision-makers across varied organizational settings.
A background in the technology or telecommunications industry is highly beneficial.
