Role Description
The Head of Sales (Media) is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lekki, responsible for leading media sales strategy and driving revenue growth for SCPL. This role oversees the sales team, sets performance targets, and manages key client accounts to ensure consistent, high-quality service and long-term partnerships. Day-to-day tasks include identifying new business opportunities, developing media sales proposals, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal creative and production teams to align offerings with client needs. The Head of Sales (Media) will analyse market trends, track sales performance metrics, and implement sales processes that support scalable growth. This position also involves mentoring team members, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative, goal-oriented sales culture.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across media, advertising, PR, and creative services.
Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, agencies, and stakeholders.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients.
Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to maximise revenue and profitability.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
Track sales performance, analyse data, and provide regular reports and forecasts to management.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client needs and objectives.
Drive the adoption of effective sales processes and best practices to support sustainable business growth.
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Sales, Business Development, or Revenue Generation roles.
Mandatory experience in the Media, Public Relations (PR), and Advertising industries.
Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Strong sales and sales management experience, including developing and executing media sales strategies.
Demonstrated account management expertise with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting market data, forecasting revenue, and optimising sales performance.
Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
Strong network of corporate brands, marketing decision-makers, advertising agencies, and media buyers.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with digital media sales, sponsorships, and integrated brand campaigns.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
