Job Description

The Senior Procurement Personnel is responsible for leading procurement operations to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and timely sourcing of goods and services in support of engineering and oil & gas projects.

The role requires strong leadership capability, vendor management expertise, and the ability to align procurement activities with operational and project delivery needs.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience in civil engineering or oil and gas environments, with proven ability to manage teams, drive performance, and understand team dynamics within a structured corporate setting.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, RFQs, tendering, negotiation, and contract management.

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business and project objectives.

Manage supplier relationships and ensure optimal performance in cost, quality, and delivery.

Supervise and guide procurement team members, ensuring clear direction, accountability, and performance standards.

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to understand procurement requirements and timelines.

Evaluate bids and proposals to ensure best value and compliance with technical specifications.

Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks within the oil & gas and civil engineering sectors.

Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and cost optimization initiatives.

Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.

Provide leadership in resolving procurement-related issues and escalations.

Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is a must

Certifications/ Msc in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience within civil engineering or oil & gas industries.

At least 4 years in a senior procurement or leadership role managing people and processes.

Strong understanding of team dynamics and demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.

Experience in contract management, vendor negotiation, and strategic sourcing.

Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage.

Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Proficiency in procurement systems and MS Office tools.
