Job Summary
We are searching for a proactive and highly disciplined firefighter to uphold fire safety, emergency readiness, and the safeguarding of lives, property, and company assets at our furniture manufacturing facility. The candidate will ensure fire prevention measures are in place, respond to emergencies, perform safety inspections, and maintain firefighting equipment. Additionally, the role involves supporting emergency preparedness initiatives to enhance overall safety protocols.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met with precision and efficiency. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and maintain high performance standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align departmental goals with broader company initiatives, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards while mitigating risks and resolving operational challenges proactively.
Perform regular fire safety assessments throughout the factory and office facilities.
Ensure adherence to fire safety regulations as well as established company safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include conducting thorough inspections, performing routine maintenance, and executing functional tests on fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and all related firefighting apparatus to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards.
Respond without delay to any fire incidents and other urgent emergencies as they arise.
Plan and oversee fire drills and evacuation exercises to ensure readiness and adherence to safety protocols.
Evaluate potential fire hazards and propose appropriate corrective measures to mitigate risks.
Ensure meticulous documentation of all inspections, incidents, and safety-related activities to maintain precise and up-to-date records.
Conduct training sessions for staff members on fire prevention strategies, emergency protocols, and efficient evacuation techniques.
Requirements
A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field, or an equivalent qualification, is required.
Proficiency in Fire Safety, Fire Fighting, or Occupational Health & Safety certification is considered beneficial.
Candidates should possess prior professional experience in capacities such as Firefighter, Fire Marshal, Safety Officer, or equivalent positions.
Proficient in the operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment, as well as the execution of emergency response protocols.
Required to maintain excellent physical fitness and the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure, emergency scenarios.
Exceptional ability to convey information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, along with a keen aptitude for preparing detailed and accurate reports.
