Position summary
The Laundry Presser is tasked with meticulously pressing, ironing, and finishing garments and linens to meet professional-grade standards. This position demands proficiency in operating diverse fabrics and specialized finishing equipment to deliver crisp, flawless results while safeguarding items from potential harm. A deft presser must balance efficiency with meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a discerning sense of presentation.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties, including the management of daily operations, project execution, and strategic planning to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, fostering collaboration and communication to facilitate seamless workflows. Conduct regular assessments to monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Prepare and present detailed reports to senior leadership, highlighting key findings, progress updates, and recommendations for continuous enhancement. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards throughout all processes.
Utilize hand irons, steam presses, form finishers, and specialized pressing equipment to press, iron, and finish garments and linens.
Determine the appropriate temperature, pressure, and steam configurations for each fabric type to prevent scorching, shine, or any potential damage.
Execute delicate, structured, and high-value garments—including suits, dress shirts, pleated items, and tailored pieces—using proper handling techniques.
Conduct thorough examinations of garments both prior to and following the pressing process to identify any stains, damage, or imperfections, and, when necessary, redirect items for additional washing or stain removal treatments.
Apply final touches by incorporating specified creases, pleats, and folds to meet exact requirements.
Ensure that all finished products adhere to established quality benchmarks and are meticulously arranged—whether hung, folded, or packaged—for seamless delivery or return.
Perform routine cleaning and minor adjustments on pressing equipment while ensuring its proper maintenance. Additionally, promptly report any malfunctions that arise during operations.
Achieve established production targets and meet specified turnaround timeframes while upholding stringent quality standards.
Maintain a tidy, well-organized workspace that strictly adheres to health and safety regulations.
Handle sensitive information with strict adherence to established protocols and maintain confidentiality as mandated by applicable guidelines.
