Job Summary:
The Structural/Site Engineer is tasked with designing, evaluating, and supervising the structural components of construction projects while also managing day-to-day site operations. This involves ensuring that all activities align with approved designs, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols. Responsibilities include directing personnel and subcontractors, allocating resources efficiently, addressing site challenges, and serving as the liaison between the project manager and on-site teams to facilitate the timely and budget-conscious completion of projects.
Oversee the execution of essential duties to ensure operational excellence and alignment with organizational objectives. Manage daily activities with precision, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and maintain high performance standards. Collaborate across teams to streamline processes, foster innovation, and drive continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while mitigating risks. Produce comprehensive structural drawings with proficiency in AutoCAD, Refit, or equivalent software platforms.
Convert architectural designs into detailed structural blueprints with precision and clarity.
To uphold adherence to local building codes, safety regulations, and structural standards, ensure all designs meet required specifications. Facilitate collaboration with architects, MEP engineers, and other consultants to create cohesive and integrated design solutions.
Oversee on-site construction operations to confirm strict compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
Collaborate effectively with subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers to facilitate seamless project phase execution.
Oversee the advancement of projects and compile comprehensive reports on a daily and weekly basis to document site activities.
Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and trades people to uphold project schedules, address technical challenges, and enhance operational efficiency.
Perform thorough site inspections and rigorous quality control assessments to confirm structural integrity and regulatory compliance.
Offer expert technical support to field teams while addressing and resolving complex engineering challenges.
Ensure strict adherence to all applicable local building codes, HSE standards, and regulatory requirements at every stage of operations.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates expertise in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools essential for the role. Possesses a strong command of software development methodologies, system architectures, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with industry-standard technologies, such as cloud platforms, databases, and DevOps practices, is highly desirable.
Experienced candidates should possess strong skills in structural design software applications, including STABS, STAND Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, ProtaStructure, or comparable tools.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural detailing is essential, with a strong emphasis on advanced skills in both areas.
Proficiency in Refit, Civil 3D, or other BIM software applications is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in engineering codes, standards, and construction regulations is essential.
Proficient in creating and analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a full-stack role. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, and familiarity with frameworks like React, Angular, or Node.js is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams are essential. Additional value is placed on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), DevOps practices, and agile methodologies. Exposure to data science, machine learning, or cybersecurity may serve as a differentiator.
A minimum of five to seven years of relevant professional experience in structural design and on-site supervision is required.
Membership or registration with pertinent professional organizations, including the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (CORE) or the Nigerian Society of Engineers (USE), is required.
With a proven track record in residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments, expertise is demonstrated across diverse project types.
Proficiency in project management methodologies will be considered a valuable asset.
