As a hybrid professional in this role, the selected individual will work on-site for a minimum of three to four days each week. The position is based at our Academy situated in Granada, Lagos State.
Instruct courses focusing on pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric knowledge, and fundamental aspects of the fashion business.
To align with the academy’s curriculum and uphold industry standards, ensure students achieve their learning objectives by continuously refining and enhancing educational programs.
Conduct oversight of practical sessions, workshops, and student projects, ensuring hands-on engagement and active participation. Deliver constructive feedback on garment fittings, necessary corrections, and final finishing touches to enhance overall quality and craftsmanship.
Evaluate students’ advancement, provide personalized mentorship, and assist them in developing portfolios tailored for industry placement.
To uphold classroom discipline, monitor attendance records, and enforce the safe and proper use of studio equipment and machinery.
Assignments, tests, and culminating projects will be created and distributed to students. Student submissions will be evaluated and graded with fairness and impartiality.
To maintain the relevance of course content for both Nigeria and the diaspora markets, ensure continuous awareness of evolving fashion trends, techniques, and tools.
Responsibilities include overseeing project execution, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables. The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least three years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Proficiency in project management software and strong analytical skills are essential. Additionally, excellent communication and leadership abilities are required to guide teams effectively. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing budgets efficiently. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards is also necessary to maintain operational integrity.
A bachelor’s degree or a recognized professional certification in Fashion Design, Clothing & Textile, or an equivalent field is required.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two to three years of practical involvement in fashion design.
Proficiency in operating both manual and industrial sewing machines, along with expertise in pattern creation, grading, and couture finishing techniques, is essential.
Proficiency in fashion illustration design tools and fabric painting is considered advantageous.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, a supportive approach for novice learners, innovative thinking, and a talent for inspiring students are essential.
Able to present samples of garments or collections that you have personally designed and constructed.
