An emergency physician, also known as an ER doctor, specializes in diagnosing, treating, and stabilizing individuals confronting acute, life-threatening illnesses or traumatic injuries.

Resuscitation involves executing critical, life-saving measures without delay, including procedures such as intubation, defibrillation, or hemorrhage control.
Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments, including ordering and interpreting blood tests, imaging studies such as CT scans and X-rays, and performing EKG’s to identify the underlying cause of acute symptoms.
Assessing patient disposition involves determining the appropriate course of action by evaluating whether discharge is safe, admission is necessary, or immediate surgical intervention is required.
