Overview

As a Trainee Accountant, you will deliver administrative and operational support to both internal teams and external clients, primarily collaborating with our Accounting division.

Your responsibilities will include supporting daily financial operations, such as data entry, monthly VAT returns, management accounting, year-end financial statements, and tax filings.

Under the organization’s guidance, you will receive access to essential resources and learning tools as a trainee Accountant, enabling you to progress toward becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Our Trainee Accountants are required to achieve full Chartered Accountant qualification within a three-year timeframe.

Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing key operational tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accuracy. This role will require you to manage a diverse set of duties, including strategic planning, team coordination, and process optimization to enhance productivity. Additionally, you will be tasked with analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to drive continuous growth. Strong communication and leadership skills will be essential to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and foster a productive work environment.

Providing support in the development and compilation of financial and management accounts for the group’s accounting operations.

Providing support in aligning client expectations with deliverables and ensuring all deadlines are met efficiently.

Assembling and organizing documentation for individual and corporate tax filings to support accurate return preparation.

Performing bookkeeping duties, which encompass recording journal entries and reconciling ledgers, to ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance with established accounting standards.

Accurately processing client records with specialized accountancy software remains a core responsibility.

Compilation of value-added tax declarations and production of monthly or quarterly management accounts are integral duties within this role.

Providing administrative support by managing routine office tasks, such as coordinating client meetings, maintaining organized filing systems, handling incoming calls, and collaborating with the Accounts team to ensure timely deadline completion.

Seeking a candidate with a proven track record in project management, preferably holding a certification such as PMP or PRINCE2. The ideal applicant will demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Microsoft Project and JIRA, is essential. Additionally, experience in budget management, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable. A minimum of five years in a related role is required, along with a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant field. The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities is crucial for success in this position.

Possesses an extensive and robust understanding of Accounting concepts and principles.

Experience with general ledgers and preparing end of financial year Accounts would be an added advantage

Individuals should possess a keen eye for detail alongside the capacity for thorough analytical reasoning.

A degree in Accounting or Finance, or partial completion of professional accounting qualifications, would be particularly advantageous.
