As a Health Information Management Officer, your responsibilities will include overseeing the organization, accuracy, and security of patient health information across various formats. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, healthcare data policies, and confidentiality protocols, while also facilitating efficient data retrieval and exchange between departments. Additionally, you will supervise the implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems, manage record retention schedules, and collaborate with IT teams to optimize data integrity and accessibility. Your role will also involve training staff on proper information handling practices and conducting audits to maintain compliance with legal and industry requirements.

Responsible for managing and upholding the integrity of both electronic and physical health record systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Maintain the precision, thoroughness, and security of all patient data while adhering to confidentiality protocols.

Accurately assign codes to diagnoses and procedures in strict adherence to established coding guidelines.

Perform systematic audits to verify coding precision and adherence to regulatory standards.

Examine health information data to detect trends, patterns, and potential enhancement opportunities.

Compile routine reports to be distributed among internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.

Monitor developments in healthcare regulatory frameworks and maintain adherence to applicable compliance requirements.

Develop and execute quality assurance protocols to uphold the reliability and precision of data.

Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, administrative personnel, and other staff members to facilitate uninterrupted information exchange and optimize record-keeping procedures.

Deliver comprehensive training and ongoing assistance to staff regarding optimal practices in health information management.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with three or more years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably within the IT infrastructure domain. Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, along with a strong understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. The ideal applicant will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, agile environments. Strong communication skills and experience leading cross-functional teams are highly desirable.

Professional candidates must have earned an HND or Bachelor’s Degree and possess between one and five years of relevant experience.
