The CRMS Officer will oversee the administration, monitoring, and regulatory reporting for all facilities within the Central Bank of Nigeria Credit Risk Management System (CONFIRMS). This position ensures the precise processing of CRMS references, adherence to timely regulatory updates, compliance with CBN standards, and the efficient management of ARMS-related reporting obligations throughout the Bank’s credit portfolio.

This position plays a key role in enhancing the Bank’s credit risk governance framework by maintaining precise portfolio reporting, ensuring data integrity, and managing regulatory interactions, all while adhering to CBN CRMS and Global Standing Instruction (GSI) guidelines.

Oversee and execute a wide range of duties integral to the role, including managing day-to-day operations, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to established protocols. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance, while maintaining a strong focus on achieving organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster innovation, streamline processes, and address challenges proactively. Monitor progress through regular evaluations, provide constructive feedback to team members, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Maintain accurate records, uphold compliance with regulatory standards, and ensure seamless communication across departments to support cohesive workflows.

Develop and manage CONFIRMS reference codes for newly authorized credit facilities.

Oversee the renewal and extension processes for CRMS references pertaining to active and ongoing credit facilities.

Update existing facility balances and finalize liquidation procedures on the CONFIRMS platform.

Process restructuring requests for both approved and existing credit facilities, ensuring they are accurately managed and monitored through the CRMS platform.

Initiate and oversee the execution of Global Standing Instruction (GSI) procedures for facilities that have exceeded 90 days in default across relevant loan portfolios.

Prepare month-end reports and submit them to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through the CRMS platform for Bonds, Securities, and loan accounts.

Guarantee the precision and thoroughness of CRMS regulatory submissions as well as portfolio updates.

Ensure adherence to CBN CRMS guidelines, regulatory deadlines, and internal credit administration policies throughout all operations.

Collaborate with Credit Administration, Operations, IT, and other relevant stakeholders to address and resolve issues and exceptions related to the Credit Risk Management System (CRMS).

Ensure thorough documentation and meticulous audit trails are maintained for every CRMS processing activity and all regulatory correspondences.

Assist in aligning CRMS entries with the Bank’s primary banking system and internal credit documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Prepare and deliver regular CRMS portfolio reports along with regulatory updates to senior management and designated committees to ensure informed decision-making and compliance oversight.

Promptly elevate any unresolved exceptions, validation irregularities, and data integrity discrepancies to ensure swift resolution.

Provide assistance with regulatory examinations, audits, and supervisory engagements pertaining to CRMS and GSI activities.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or another quantitative field is required.

A minimum of three years of relevant experience in credit administration, regulatory reporting, or credit risk management is required.

Proficient in utilizing the CBN Credit Risk Management System (CRMS) and adhering to the Global Standing Instruction (GSI) framework.

CRMS professionals should possess practical expertise in CRMS processing, validation, and regulatory reporting.

Experienced in effectively utilizing CRMS Report Converter and CBN CRMS Validator tools.

Possesses a comprehensive grasp of banking operations, loan lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance standards.

Proven capability in analytical reasoning, meticulous reconciliation, and effective problem resolution.

Proven ability to communicate effectively and manage relationships with stakeholders across various levels.

Maintaining a strong commitment to precision, ethical standards, and meticulousness is essential.
