This hybrid position requires the selected candidate to work on-site for three to four days each week. The individual will be based at our Academy located in Granada, Lagos State.
Instruct courses focused on pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric knowledge, and fundamental aspects of the fashion business.
Ensure the academy’s curriculum aligns with and enhances student achievement of key learning objectives and industry benchmarks through continuous evaluation and refinement.
Lead practical sessions, workshops, and student projects while offering constructive feedback on fittings, corrections, and finishing techniques to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Evaluate student advancement through individualized instruction, offering tailored support to assist students in developing portfolios essential for industry placement.
Ensure a well-organized classroom environment, monitor student attendance, and uphold the proper and safe usage and maintenance of studio tools and equipment.
Assign tasks, administer tests, and oversee culminating projects to evaluate student progress. Assess and evaluate student submissions with fairness and objectivity.
Maintain awareness of evolving fashion trends, methodologies, and technologies to ensure the course content remains pertinent to both Nigerian and diaspora markets.
JOB REQUIREMENT
A bachelor’s degree or recognized professional certificate in Fashion Design, Clothing & Textile, or a related field is required.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two to three years of practical experience in fashion design.
A thorough understanding of both manual and industrial sewing machines, along with expertise in pattern making, grading, and couture finishing, is essential.
Proficiency in fashion illustration design tools and fabric painting techniques is considered beneficial.
We seek a candidate with outstanding communication skills, a capacity for patience when instructing beginners, a strong sense of creativity, and the ability to inspire and motivate students effectively.
Must demonstrate a portfolio of garments or collections that you have personally designed and produced.
