The Skilled Laundry Presser ensures garments and linens are expertly pressed, ironed, and finished meeting professional standards. This position demands proficiency in operating various fabrics and finishing machinery to achieve flawless, wrinkle-free outcomes while safeguarding items from wear or damage. Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution to drive organizational success. Utilize hand irons, steam presses, form finishers, and specialized pressing equipment to meticulously press, iron, and finish garments and linens to meet quality standards.
Determine the appropriate temperature, pressure, and steam configurations for each fabric type to prevent scorching, shine, or damage.
Execute delicate, structured, and high-value garments—including suits, dress shirts, pleated items, and tailored pieces—using specialized handling techniques to preserve their quality and integrity.
Conduct thorough examinations of garments both prior to and following the pressing process to identify any stains, damage, or defects, and initiate rewashing or stain treatment procedures as necessary.
Apply final touches to garments by executing creases, pleats, and folds in accordance with specified guidelines.
Verify that all completed products adhere to established quality benchmarks and are meticulously arranged—whether hung, folded, or packaged—prior to shipment or return.
Maintain pressing equipment by conducting regular cleaning and performing minor adjustments, ensuring optimal functionality. Report any malfunctions immediately to prevent operational delays.
Achieve predetermined production targets and meet strict turnaround time requirements while maintaining uncompromising quality standards.
Maintain a tidy, well-organized workspace that adheres to all health and safety regulations.
Adhere to specific handling guidelines and uphold confidentiality obligations as mandated.
