Support the implementation of R-DATS project development, research, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
This role offers a prime chance to develop significant hands-on expertise in research methodologies, survey implementation, and data administration.
The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will undertake a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following tasks:
Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and mid-term evaluations.
Support the development of instruments for gathering data and the creation of structured methodologies for examining collected information.
Assist with gathering, inputting, recording, verifying, and refining data to ensure accuracy and integrity throughout the process.
Ensure strict adherence to all data quality protocols throughout the processes of data collection and data cleaning.
Responsibilities include gathering and organizing data, conducting preliminary analysis, creating data visualizations, compiling reports, and sharing findings with stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with the RATS team to compile reports, aggregate data, and share success stories and key learnings.
Assist in the organization and execution of research activities in alignment with established project implementation timelines.
Perform all additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor from time to time.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or a closely related quantitative discipline is required.
Proficiency in conducting survey data analysis using State or SPSS is a prerequisite for this role.
Proficient in quantitative analysis and experienced with data visualization and statistical software tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and MS Excel.
Proficiency in research methodologies, survey data analysis, and program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in working with extensive secondary datasets—including MICS, DHS, and NARKS—is highly advantageous.
Skilled in articulating ideas clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing, while upholding rigorous quality standards and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
Demonstrated cultural competency and a proven track record of effectively collaborating with teams from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrates strong self-sufficiency, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to seeking assistance when necessary.
Proven expertise in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint, is required.
